All U.S. Dashers are automatically eligible for DoorDash's Occupational Accident policy - no signup, no premiums, no deductibles or copays - subject to the policy's terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions.
For a covered injury during an active delivery: medical expenses up to $1,000,000 with no deductible or copay, and disability payments equal to 50% of your average weekly wage, up to $500/week, minus other income. DoorDash's program materials also list survivor benefits as part of this coverage, though we haven't found a specific dollar figure or detailed schedule for that piece.
When it applies
Coverage applies during an active delivery - from accepting the order through drop-off. Being logged on and waiting for an offer isn't the same thing.
California is different
California has its own schedule and provisions, and DoorDash notes there may be coverage while you're signed on but not actively delivering. We haven't verified that exception outside California, so don't assume it applies nationwide.
Filing a claim
DoorDash's current public FAQ directs occupational-accident claim intake to Blue Star Claims, its administrator for this program. We've found no evidence Blue Star Claims administers Uber's or Lyft's programs.
What this doesn't cover
This is injury coverage. It does not pay for damage to your car or bike - that's a separate question entirely.

DoorDash's occupational accident policy is national, not state-by-state - but your other coverage still depends on your state. Open your state and jump straight to what we have verified.
