The company handling your claim may have a different name from Uber or Lyft. An insurer, claims administrator or insurance representative may contact you, and the platform name alone does not identify the carrier.

Use the claim information in the platform’s official support channel or Crash Center to verify the company assigned to your case. A national partner list does not tell you who handles every state or individual claim.

Uber: use the claim-specific resources

Uber’s general public insurance page does not name one universal carrier for every claim. After submission, its Crash Center provides access to Uber’s insurer. Uber says Uber or partner insurance representatives may contact the claimant, and claims support guides reporting to the coverage provider in the relevant state.

Lyft: a partner list is not an assignment

Lyft currently identifies Liberty Mutual, Mobilitas, State Farm, Progressive and Allstate as trusted auto-insurance partners. Those names are useful context, but the list does not establish that all five handle every claim or that any one company handles your state.

Assignments can depend on market and policy and can change. Do not rely on an older claim, another driver’s experience or a familiar company name to identify the handler for this accident.

Verify an unfamiliar contact independently

  • Ask for the company name, representative’s name and claim reference.
  • Compare those details with the claim information in the platform or Crash Center.
  • If unsure, use the platform’s official claim/support channel rather than relying only on a phone number or link the caller supplies.
  • Do not provide sensitive information solely because an unfamiliar caller says they represent the insurer.

An unfamiliar name is not by itself proof of a problem, and a name on the published partner list is not proof that a particular caller is genuine. Independent verification helps you reach the right handler without inventing a carrier assignment.

Coverage can vary by state.
